Obama, Democrats & Progressives: Mad As Hell & They Ain't Go'nna Take It!

The democrats pushing Obama's healthcare debacle seemingly ran into a major roadblock on their way to imposing their plan. The roadblock was the Congresses summer vacation getaway. The democrats may have run out of time, but believe me this is not a roadblock for them. Even all the anti-healthcare pushback they are having and will receive from the engaged public will not stop them. They have already started their August 'healthcare campaign' of disinformation and demonization.

Notice how they decided the bad people are the insurance companies and you, if you disagree with them. Watch them as they appeal to the greed in people who unknowingly fall for the fluff being presented as healthcare reform:   They will say you will not experience problems with their system or lose your existing coverage, it will be just like Medicare, you will have no out-of-pocket costs, there will be no rationing, no co-pays, etc. with their plan. They are even reluctant to tell you their ultimate goal is the single payer plan, because they know you do not want a government-run system. They want you to believe the bad guys are the mean old, greedy insurance companies, who are profit driven.  They believe they can take the profits out and use those costs for their plan.  They forget that profits are what fund research and development, new drugs and procedures.

They want you to believe all this noise against their plan is an orchestrated, right-wing, extremist and insurance company effort to dissuade their honest efforts to reform our system.  They will deamonize it as just more tea-bagging by extremists.

Folks, they are made as hell and they don't plan on taking it or this thing going away without a down in the dirt, fight to the end.  They are not to be or will they be dissuaded from their efforts to get this total healthcare overhaul in place. They think it is within their reach now, and believe they will not have this opportunity again, possibly never again. This is the ultimate left-wing, socialist dream. This is next to global warming in their zealot driven, warm and fuzzy feeling hearts. National healthcare – single payer program and the global warming environmental cabal are their biggest programs and weapons for a total Socialist America. Just listen to them and what they are saying. It is the same message they have been giving off for years and years, only now their incremental creep towards a socialist state has developed into a full gallop.

The democrats have used the same old play book year after year, campaign after campaign. They are as predictable as night and day. They won't tell you the program they are planning to heave upon you will result in all the private carriers going away, all the employer-sponsored health plans ending, costs rising for your healthcare, but don't worry the government is on the job and will pick up your tab no matter what. They won't tell you that by adding people to the free, public healthcare system will decrease care (government board), rationed care (less doctors, specialists, and medical providers) trying to serve more and more people, including illegal residents. Costs will rise, resulting in lower quality care, less more restrictive care. Just research how more people actually die from heart disease and cancer in Canada, France and Great Britain under their public health programs. The truth about these government run systems is getting out, and the truth is not pretty.

They will cite many statistics, how America ranks 37th amongst developed countries in death rates. They will try and pin this death rate on our healthcare system. They won’t break those statistics down for you or give you the details. They won’t tell you how these statistics include deaths from all causes, including traffic accidents, homicides, wars and every other cause of death. They won’t tell you how we have the best system of healthcare (practitioners, research, availability, new techniques and lowest death rates for the biggest killers of heart disease and cancer). Sure, we have problems. This is a massive system, and it’s bound to have problems. Let’s solve the problems we have, and not throw the baby out with the bath water.

Research and development of new medical procedures and drugs will slow and become non-existent under their plan, why? Because now under a free-market, profit driven system, professionals in the field are researching and developing new medicines and procedures because of two primary reasons: (1) They will be rewarded for developing them and, (2) There is money being directed towards these through funding by the insurance carriers. The current public systems of Medicare, Medicaid and veteran programs are simply too strapped for cash to do much research. There is no incentive to develop new procedures and drugs, and the amount of payments provided for each patients disease or problem is too restricted to provide any extra money for such research and development, which causes the cost of research and development to fall upon the insured. This, and other government restrictions and requirements not placed on the public systems, causes the cost of insurance to go higher and higher.

No one can argue the free-market health insurance market does need some common sense reforms. We don't need a hatchet, but maybe a scalpel is more the tools needed. We need to come up with something that provides for people to maintain their coverage when they lose their job or change jobs. They need some protection against discrimination and un-insurability. They need a totally free-market, unrestricted by state lines and individual state restrictions. Some protection needs to be afforded professionals in the medical field against unreasonable lawsuits (tort reform). If reforms in just these areas were accomplished, we would see a dramatic difference in the cost and availability of health insurance.

Why is this not being looked at, instead of a complete over-haul and destruction of our current system? The simple answer is 'power' and 'control'. Conservatives have always, accurately maintained this is one of the drivers behind most liberal programs. Whether or not taxes need to be raised, and undoubtedly they would have to be dramatic tax increases under the current proposals. More taxes, means more government control and more government control means loss of individual choice, freedom and a ever more bigger and bigger government largesse, which will demand more and more of your tax money year-after year. The democrats want this because it increases their control, their voter base and another entitlement which they can claim is your benefit provided by a benevolent government.

The left is in political charge in Washington. The were put in place by an ill informed, disengaged public, who were victims of a one-sided, left-wing media who failed to do their job of informing the public. The public is now getting engaged, and people are making themselves aware of what is going on: a complete socialist takeover of America by a 'Community Organizer in Chief.' The people are about to find out what can happen in an 'almost instantaneous' moment of inattention to their precious freedoms. We are endangered, and a full blown headon collision is about to occur in America. The hate filled left meets the challenge of freedom loving people from all walks of life. Not just right-wingers, but from independants and even some just to the left of center who cherish their freedoms.

This in essence is the 60s anti-war and post 60s radicals meeting up with middle America in a battle for control of the country. Somehow, someway they got elected and they are in charge of the agenda and the agenda is their only mission right now. People who have never before been engaged in demostrations against their government are finding it necessary to get up off the couch, put together signs and other elements of protest and hit the streets. The summer of 2009 is proving to be a summer like others this country has faced, and hopefully we can get past this headon collision without any incidents of violence, but I think we are in for some tough times ahead.
